In the year 1500, German artist Albrecht Durer painted one of the earliest self-portraits. Frida Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh painted images of themselves in order to better understand and express their own agony and ecstasy. The Season of the Self is a celebration of self-portraits presented and curated by JJ Baker.
