Season of the Self

In the year 1500, German artist Albrecht Durer painted one of the earliest self-portraits. Frida Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh painted images of themselves in order to better understand and express their own agony and ecstasy.
The Season of the Self is a celebration of self-portraits presented and curated by JJ Baker. JJ has a long history of self-portraiture and wanted to host a show to exhibit a variety of self-portraits from different artists in various media. The show features local, regional, and national artists.,
The opening reception is on Saturday, November 13th at Hardy & Nance from 6-9 pm. Masks are required inside the building.
