SUMMARY:Season of the Self
DESCRIPTION:\n\nIn the year 1500\, German artist Albrecht Durer painted one of the earliest self-portraits. Frida Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh painted images of themselves in order to better understand and express their own agony and ecstasy.\n\nThe Season of the Self is a celebration of self-portraits presented and curated by JJ Baker. JJ has a long history of self-portraiture and wanted to host a show to exhibit a variety of self-portraits from different artists in various media. The show features local\, regional\, and national artists.\,\n\nThe opening reception is on Saturday\, November 13th at Hardy & Nance from 6-9 pm.
